Red Neck Riviera Spearfishing Torunament Safety and
Alabama Spearfishing Association Meeting
May 17, 2012
A meeting of the Alabama
Spearfishing Association was called to order by Director,
Forrest Phillips at 7:00 p.m.
A prayer was given by the Chaplain and the previous minutes were
dispensed with.
A Secretary/Treasurers Report was given by Mike Wade
The rules were discussed.
Weigh Stations will be located at Down Under Dive Shop and Gulf
Coast Divers during normal business hours. Tacky Jacks ONLY on
the day of Awards, June 9, 2012.
A Lionfish Division was discussed and a fish REEF will be
Awarded to the Team that kills the most lionfish during this
event.
All lionfish remain the property of the Alabama Spearfishing
Association.
A Safety Talk was given by Lawren McCaghren of
Gulf Coast Divers.
A motion was made, seconded and passed to authorized Mike Wade
to shop around for a financial institution suitable for the
Alabama Spearfishing Association.
A motion was made, seconded and passed for Mike Wade to secure a
Employer Identification Number (EIN) for the Alabama
Spearfishing Association.
A color for the Plaque and T-Shirts were left up to the
discretion of tournament organizers.
Meeting was adjourned at 8:00 p.m.
